Maddie Lu began as the way to start selling my art and making it more accessible to the people who wanted it most. I beleive that art should be available to everyone, not hiding in a gallery somewhere.

The nickname of Maddie Lu comes from my Dad, who would quite enjoyed using the combo name while I was growing up. Moving back home after graduating college, I turned a spare room into my studio- creating a sign with 'Maddie Lu Studios' on the door. My Dad always thought it was the cutest thing, and was honored to be remembered that way. While I didn't intend the nickname to become bittersweet so soon since his unexpected passing, it's all the more reason to keep Maddie Lu and the spirit of my biggest cheerleader alive.
