Growing up in the suburbs of Chicago, Madeleine Snyder received her B.A. in both Studio Art and Small Business & Entrepreneurship. Studying abroad at the University of Limerick, Ireland she first learned how green a place could be, and was also the catalyst for nature becoming the focal point of her creations. She has worked, as well as studied, in the realm of natural health since then continuing to expand her knowledge on uses of herbs and native plants. Most recently focusing on flora and fauna of the southwest as Snyder currently resides in Albuquerque, NM.

Using plants to showcase lightheartedness and humor, Snyder hopes to bring more fun into what oftentimes is considered boring sustenance. She brings line work, color, and realistic abstraction together to create playful scenes that her subjects live in- and elicits smiles from her audience as well. Turning the focus towards the connection we have with nature, she brings us closer to seeing its true essence.

While Snyder continues to create fun and humor in her work, she has also seen her fair share of sadness. Snyder lost her parents to the two big C's: her mother passing of Cancer in 2014 and her father passing most recently of Covid-19 in 2021. In a world where there is much uncertainty about what the next day will bring, it's important now more than ever to be present in each moment. We do so by recognizing those moments of magic and finding the joy in seemingly small things. It is through her art that Snyder hopes to elicit more of those moments for her audience, because we are all only here for an indefinite amount of time- and we might as well enjoy the ride.
